Superior Trade App and Skill Tutorial
Watch a Mind design, backtest, and deploy a trading strategy in one conversation.
AdvancedRisk Disclaimer
Trading carries risk. The Superior Trade App and Skill give you the tools to build and deploy strategies based on your inputs. Your results depend on your strategy design and market conditions. Backtesting provides an indication of how your strategy will perform, but past performance is not indicative of future results. Actual results may vary based on extraneous factors. AI can make errors. No trading strategy should be executed without independent human review and appropriate risk controls and limits in place.

See It In Action
Watch a Mind design, backtest, and deploy a strategy in one conversation.
What You Need Before You Start
- An active Mind on hellominds.ai
- A Superior Trade API key.
- Create one at https://terminal.superior.trade: sign up, finish onboarding, deposit USDC on Arbitrum, then generate a key (it starts with st_live_).
- Add the key on the Animoca Minds dashboard under Providers/Integrations as the superiortrade provider. The dashboard injects it as the x-api-key on every Superior Trade call, so the key stays on the dashboard and out of the chat.
- Funds in your platform wallet. Superior Trade creates and manages your trading wallet on Hyperliquid for you. Deposit USDC on Arbitrum from the dashboard to fund it.
- For the Aerodrome section below: a Base wallet funded with ETH for gas plus USDC.
What can the Minds do
Once set up, describe a strategy in plain English and your Mind creates it, backtests it, and deploys the bot.
- Strategy formulation: your Mind turns your plain-English rules into a coded algorithmic strategy.
- Backtesting: your Mind tests the strategy against historical data and reports ROI, drawdown, and trade count.
- Deployment and monitoring: after you review the strategy, your Mind deploys live or in paper mode, then reports status, logs, and balance on request. Your strategy's coded stoploss and exit rules control risk, and you monitor by polling status, logs, and balance.
- On Hyperliquid you can stop the bot and then exit positions;
- on Aerodrome, stopping the bot completes the closeout.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Equip the Superior Trade App and Skills
Message Mind through email or Telegram, and send the prompt below. Your Mind installs the app and both skills from the Bazaar: the Hyperliquid strategist and the Aerodrome spot strategist.
Prompt to copy:
Equip the app SuperiorTrade_Suite_v2 (ID: 4431f029-9f26-f111-ad1d-0ea9a5017e89) and these skills:
- SuperiorTrade_Algo_Strategist (ID: C0062FCA-CC29-F111-AD1D-0EA9A5017E89)
- Aerodrome_Spot_Strategist (ID: 5DE54B3E-F36B-1410-8462-00039CE7DF11) Then confirm everything is ready.
Step 2: Tell Your Mind Your Parameters
Define your trading parameters, such as asset to be traded, maximum drawdown, and time horizon. Your Mind designs the strategy based on these parameters, and the backtest then reports the drawdown the strategy produced. Send the following prompt to your Mind to define the parameters.
Sample prompt: "I want to trade [X], my maximum drawdown is [Y]%, and my time horizon is [Z]. Design around these."
Step 3: Design Your Strategy
Once your parameters are set, prompt your Mind to design the strategy. It turns your parameters into an algorithmic strategy with entry rules, exit rules, and position sizing.
Sample prompt: "Design a trading strategy that fits my parameters. Explain the entry rules, exit rules, and sizing, and show how it satisfies my trading parameters."
Step 4: Run a Backtest
Prompt your Mind to test the strategy against historical data before you risk live funds. Your Mind runs the backtest and reports the results.
Sample prompt: "Backtest the strategy we designed against historical data, then give me a short report covering profit and loss maximum drawdown, and total trade count."
Step 5: Go Live on Hyperliquid
Once the backtesting completes with at least one trade, you are ready to go live. Send the prompt below and your Mind will show a full summary and a real-money warning before anything starts. It deploys only after you confirm. Going live stores your trading credentials and trades real money, so your Mind shows a summary, surfaces a real-money warning, and starts only after you confirm.
Not ready to live yet? Ask your Mind for paper mode, which runs the same strategy against live prices with simulated fills and no real funds at risk.
Sample prompt: "Deploy the strategy live on Hyperliquid using the settings from the best backtest run. Store credentials after I confirm the real-money warning, verify the credentials status, check my main-wallet balance and open positions, then show the summary and start it once I approve."
Trading Spot on Aerodrome (Base)
The Aerodrome skill trades spot on Aerodrome Finance, an automated market maker on Base. It runs through the same app and the same design-backtest-deploy flow, with a few differences:
- Supported pairs: AERO/USDC and CHECK/USDC.
- Trading mode: spot on Base L2, with long entries and exits through the Aerodrome AMM.
- Gas: every swap spends Base ETH. Fund the Base wallet with at least 0.005 ETH plus the USDC you plan to trade.
- Data check first: Aerodrome candle history varies by pair, so your Mind checks data availability before it backtests.
- Stopping: Aerodrome settles each swap on-chain, so stopping the bot completes the closeout.
Sample prompt:
- "Check historical data availability for AERO/USDC on Aerodrome, then design a spot strategy within the parameters that I give you."
- "Backtest the Aerodrome strategy and report profit and loss, maximum drawdown, total trades, and the fee and gas drag."
- "Deploy the Aerodrome strategy live on Base. First confirm my Base wallet holds enough ETH for gas and enough USDC for the trade size, then show the summary and start it once I approve."
Ongoing Management
Use these sample prompts to monitor and adjust your strategy over time.
Daily check-in
"List my current backtests and deployments, show the latest status and key metrics for each, pull recent deployment logs, and call out any errors or warnings in them."
Tune risk down
"I want to halve my risk of drawdown. Design a lower-risk version of the strategy, backtest it, and walk me through redeploying: stop and delete the current bot, create the new deployment, then store credentials again after the summary and real-money confirmation. Explain the trade-offs."
Stop a deployment
"Stop my active Hyperliquid deployment, then exit any remaining positions to flatten it. Summarise the recent trades and outline how to start a fresh deployment when I am ready."
Sprint review
"Review my last two weeks of Superior Trade activity: backtest quality, and any deployment issues from the logs. Flag anything that needs attention."
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A call returns 401 | A key problem: typo, stray spaces, missing dashboard setup, or wrong provider | Open the Minds dashboard, find the superiortrade provider under Providers/Integrations, and re-enter your st_live_ key. Create a new key as the last resort |
| The bot runs but makes zero trades | Low live balance, an unlimited stake with insufficient balance, entry rules too tight, or an invalid pair or config | Check your main-wallet balance, set an explicit numeric stake, review the strategy's entry conditions, and read the logs for errors |
| Create returns limit_exceeded | You hit the cap of 10 backtests or 10 deployments | Delete completed or failed ones, then retry |
| An Aerodrome deployment logs "insufficient funds for gas" | The Base wallet is low on ETH | Fund the Base wallet with at least 0.005 ETH and start it again |
| The API rejects a pair | Wrong pair format | Spot is BTC/USDC, perps are BTC/USDC:USDC, HIP-3 is XYZ-AAPL/USDC:USDC. Aerodrome supports AERO/USDC and CHECK/USDC |
